WHAT: Building 150 energy-efficient and environmentally friendly homes. With a price tag of $150,000, the homes are affordable.

WHEN: "Make It Right" was founded in December 2007.

WHERE: New Orleans, Louisiana—Lower Ninth Ward.

WHY: When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans on August 29, 2005, 80 percent of the city was flooded, 1,577 people were killed, and 4,000 homes in the Lower Ninth Ward were destroyed.
