Please vote AGAINST Obama's "health care" bill!
The Obama health plan makes NO SUBSTANTIVE CHANGES in the delivery of health care. It simply depends on higher taxes and fewer services. It will increase unemployment as business trims employees to moderate higher costs. It will PUNISH people who seek private care. It is coercive. Hurt the many to help the few? Please... More >>
It's not just a question of voting "against" "Obama's bill."
The bill should never have been there. It is a thousand steps "below" compromise; it IS, in fact, the corporate lobby bill. In some ways, it is why Obama ultimately became the "candidate of choice" for the corporate funders; he and he alone could quiet the distraught, distressed uninformed masses, even as he continued the basic Bush-neocon agenda (with a few flavor-swirls of style difference.)
It is so obvious. The only appropriate health care solution is Single Payer. Period. No ifs, ands or buts. No "public options", it is THE public option continued profit-making instead of care-giving. The insurance companies' idea of a system has nothing to do with humanity, nor care -- it is in fact, the opposite. Yet they use OUR millions (we gave it to them) to spread awful lies about a system that is both affordable and WORKS.
The COMPANIES are the ones who take away your doctor choice and come between a doctor's decision and the patient. THEY are the ones to deny care if it hurts their bottom line. They kill to keep a tight ship. They sell fear of "rationing" of health care, when THEY are the ones who ration it every day: they dole it out to the young and the healthy and leave the infirm and financially-strapped population out in the cold, with NO care at all, except for emergency rooms. Now THAT is rationing. Between insurance companies (and just look what AIG and others did to the word economy), and drug companies, we have an all-powerful control and lobbying juggernaut that functions as another branch of government -- the only one that calls the shots.
These financial giants are fighting for their lives and care not one whit about yours. They, oh so want this "Obama bill" because it MANDATES everyone to buy insurance. What more could they possibly want? We know. They want that the people reject the idea of a "public option" which would force down their prices. So they'll spend millions now to defeat the "option" and save billions in the long run. No fools, they. Just unscrupulous, murderous, cold bastards.
Single Payer. There is no other game. There is no other solution, The Obama bill with its hard-to-sell "option" keeps the insurance companies in the game, and is doomed to fail, for it has noone of the benefits of Single Payer and will cost way too much for little in return.
Single Payer will cost no more than what we now have, but the $$ will go to ... CARE!
With Single Payer Everyone gets care, No One is left out.
With Single Payer, you can say good-bye to:
• deductibles
• exclusions for "pre-conditions" (the concept does not exist). Every "condition" is treated!
• small print
• worrying about how to pay the bill
• avoiding preventative doctor visits to save money
Single Payer works. Private, for-profit "health companies" do not. Period.
