Things heated up on “The View” this week when Whoopi and Elisabeth had a little verbal tete-a-tete over the subject of racism in America. The discussion was prompted by a mention of pastor Jeremiah Wright, and also Obama’s recent comments about his grandmother being a “typical white person.” The Huffington Post reported on the episode earlier in the week:
Whoopi declared, “This is a racist country,” and told Elisabeth that she, like Obama’s grandmother, would be scared if she saw six young black men standing on a corner. Elisabeth, for her part, denied that this would alarm her and demanded (in harsh tones and with exaggerated hand gestures) that someone “write [her] the rules on racism.
You might not be able to wrap a red bow around this one and pass it off as polite brunch conversation, but it’s people talking about real issues in a real way on prime time television. HuffPo only included a quick clip, but I’ve posted the full relevant segments below in two videos. Enjoy! Don’t forget to
and find out what Human Rights Watch is doing to combat racial discrimination in the administration of justice.

Racism is an emotional issue but if we believe in education we know it is only a matter of time before it is history.

I think Elisabeth is being judged unfairly. She said that if a Black man or woman was qualified, she would vote for them.
In many situations, people have admitted that they are voting for Mr. Obama because he is Black. They are not voting for
Mr McCain because he is White. Yes, this is a historical time for Hillary (running as a woman-not a white woman),
Barack (inexperienced but Black), and John because he would be the oldest running (age discrimination)….
If you watch The View and t he body language of the hosts, nothing can be questioned without dirty looks that could kill.
Yet, qustions can be reemed at Mr.McCain and it is okay.
Example: The interview with Mrs. Obama was “nice”..she comes across as likeable..the questions asked to her were much
different than the questions thrown at Mrs.McCain….SHAME ON BARBARA WALTERS! she says she is fair and unbiased
like Tim Russert - HARDLY…Instead of asking Cindy about all her donated civil time to help people…BW said, “Well, you
know , you are from a rich family” - like she just sits and collects money…you could feel the tension as if the audience
put up a wall at that point. They didn’t show the McCain children - how they are mult-racial and adopted and their own as well…OH NO, BUT FOR MICHELLE - her family was in the background most of the time.
BW says she isn’t one or the other, however, her comments and body language (rolling her eyes or the disgust look or the
palms up)..says it all…She and the other 3 are biased and do not give the Republicans or the INdependents a fair shake.
LETS’ SEE GLENN BECK ON THE PROGRAM!!!! He is unbiased and for the American People.
THE SHOW WOULD BE BETTER WITHOUT POLITICS - SINCE IT IS SO ONE SIDED,
