PPP chooses Bhutto’s son as successor

Benazir Bhutto’s 19-year-old son has been chosen to succeed her as chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party. According to Ali Hassan of Human Rights Watch, choosing Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the leader of the PPP has been done to capitalize on widespread anger and grief over the assassination during the elections. The PPP, which is the largest and most popular political party in Pakistan, has demanded that the January 8th elections take place as scheduled, despite a diminishing security situation in the country. For You
    To honour Benazir Bhutto
    Written for her son

Life with it’s mysteries, makes me sad sometimes.
I want to learn the truth. It may explain our crimes.
Many wars are being fought for wealth, power, and glory.
But fighting makes mothers sad, and many men sorry.
If we could back off on control. Let everyone take a break.
Then men could stand aside. Let women up, for children’s sake!
A mother was taken down on a dark day for mankind, so I must speak!
How can we do such a thing – take away a woman who is at the peek?
Benazir Bhutto was a people’s political muslimah who
Lived and died a martyrs way, with love for me, for you.

    Love Lora Bruncke
